About Us
Aquazone is a swim club located in Hillcrest & Kloof, Kwazulu-Natal that caters for swimmers from 6 months and upwards.
The coaching staff consists of dedicated and enthusiastic coaches, who combine youthful innovation, with experience and established techniques. We currently provide swimming coaching in heated pools at Curro HCA, Kloof Senior Primary and Kloof Country Club and at our Curro High School Campus where we have a 50m heated pool, as well as an indoor, learn to swim pool.
At squad level our club has been competing in inter-club and KZN galas for well over a decade during which time we have produced numerous SA national, youth national, junior national and KZN schools qualifiers. In addition to this, we have placed swimmers onto SA teams who have gone on to participate at an international level.
Whether you are looking at sending your child for swim lessons, or whether you are looking at increasing your overall fitness, Aquazone will help you reach your goals.

Our History
Aquazone Swim Club opened its’ doors at Hillcrest Primary in 1993 under coach Tracy Loxley. In 2002, with the club running out of Highbury, Tracy hung up her stopwatch to pursue a career in the home. The club was taken over by the current Head coach Angela Marlton, who was one of the club’s senior athletes.
From 2002, the club moved from Winston Park to HCA, settling at its’ first home, Hillcrest Primary School. From 2003, the swimmers training under Angela were registered to a Queensburgh-based club, Beavers Swim Club.
In 2008 Joanne Gibson-Taylor joined the club as a learn-to-swim and stroke correction coach. Belinda Dallaway joined as the learn-to swim specialist in 2009, releasing Joanne to coach in her area of expertise – stroke correction, and freeing Angela to focus on competitive swimming and technique development.
In 2010 after eight years affiliated with Beavers, the club decided it was time to spread their wings and compete independently. 2016 saw Aquazone joining forces with CURRO Hillcrest High and CURRO HCA Primary. We now enjoy state-of-the-art facilities with a 25m and a 50m heated pool, an indoor learn-to-swim pool, and a dynamic team of full-time coaches and part-time coaches including additional venues in the surrounding areas.
